•Step 2:Annotate important points from the passage in the margins of the article, Define with the dictionary unfamiliar words.
• Step 3:Read the question and circle key words
•Step 4:Read the answer choices
•Step 5:Locate in the passage the correct answer and box it in. Place the question number next to it.
• Step 6:Use Process Of Elimination to eliminate the incorrect answers and explain why you are eliminating those answers.
•Step 7:Select the correct answer.

May 12th, 2020- Reading
The STAAR program includes Annual assessments for
Reading and mathematics, grades 3–8
Writing at grades 4 and 7
Science at grades 5 and 8
Social studies at grade 8
End-of-course assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, biology and U.S history.
Beginning in 2016, TEA will voluntarily administer STAAR EOC assessments for English III and Algebra II.

The information should help educators understand how the new STAAR program measures the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum standards.
